SURGICAL PLATFORMS

HFDS or High Frequency Deep Sclerotomy

HFDS  is a minimally invasive and implant-free, ab-interno MIGS procedure that treats mild to moderate open-angle glaucoma.

In the surgical treatment of glaucoma, Oertli’s surgical platforms provide significant added value in microinvasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS). The High Frequency Deep Sclerotomy (HFDS) establishes a direct access to the Schlemm’s canal in front of the anterior chamber and further into the sclera, bypassing the drainage resistance of the trabecular meshwork. This ensures a minimal complication rate and good long-term results despite the short duration of the procedure.

HFDS is available on CataRhex 3, Faros and OS 4.

THE LOGIC OF INSTRUMENTS

The surgical platforms by Oertli create a closed surgical system together with their matching instruments. Every instrument is compatible with every Oertli surgical device provided the relevant function is available. Of course, Oertli consistently relies on quality in the production of its instruments, hand pieces, tips and auxiliary agents. Instruments are developed in Berneck and perfected with highest precision – so that surgeons can fully rely on their tools.
