Envision Africa, a local surgical Ophthalmic distributor based in Johannesburg South Africa, was incorporated in 2014. James Wright, the founder, along with his team has over 120 years of combined experience in the Ophthalmic Surgical Industry.
They also have a wealth of relationships built over time – not only with customers but also the companies that Envision Africa represents. Over the years Envision Africa has grown rapidly in capacity and capability, boasting a reputation for exemplary service and a highly experienced and dynamic team dedicated to delivering ophthalmic products.
We care
We make a difference by partnering with organizations dedicated to eradicating vision impairment. Cataracts are the leading cause of blindness in South Africa. Blindness from cataracts can be completely reversed but most Government facilities are under tremendous pressure to meet the demand for cataract surgery. We have contributed our time and donated consumables in various outreaches to enable free vision-restoring operations in South Africa and other sub-Saharan regions.
We also assisted ophthalmologists in private practice who donated their time and skill to make these surgeries possible. Our sincere thanks goes to all the surgeons and staff involved and organizations such as Africa20twenty and the Tshemba Foundation, Foundation Elena Barraquer INC. Together we will continue the good work.
